DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service)

An attack that overwhelms a website, server, or network with massive amounts of traffic from multiple sources, making it unavailable to legitimate users.

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack floods a target system with so much traffic that it cannot respond to legitimate requests. Attackers use networks of compromised computers (botnets) to generate this traffic. The goal is disruption — taking a website offline, crashing a service, or distracting IT teams while other attacks take place.

SME Protection

Malaysian SMEs hosting websites on Cloudflare or similar CDN providers already have basic DDoS protection included. For businesses running their own servers, consider a web application firewall (WAF) and have a response plan that includes contacting your hosting provider immediately if an attack occurs.
